We were given space at the museum to exhibit some of the photographs we'd taken recently. The display was put together by Dave Adshead with customary zeal and, though few in number, looked very well indeed.
The display was in place for the whole of March with the intention of accompanying a visit of a portable planetarium for the 28th. We were invited to attend the exhibit with a stand and answer questions from the public. The stand was manned by Lesley Hardware, Sandra Crowther and Elaine Booker, with menial support from Dave Hardware, Dave Adshead and Martin Shaw.
The day was cloudy, blustery and rainy so we chose not to set up the solar telescope for people to look at the Sun.
We had lots of visitors asking questions and showing an interest in our pictures and in astronomy in general and felt the day was a great success in showing Doncaster AS to the public. We should do more of it and will approach the museum concerning the forthcoming Cultural Festival 2009.
